Islington Town Hall Wedding // Megan & Steven
I love shooting weddings in the autumn; leaves falling from trees, low directional light and crisp frosty mornings make for joyful weddings in the City, especially at weekends when the streets are free from the heavy pedestrian traffic commuting to and from the offices high in the sky of the financial district of London.
Megan began her day with bridal preparations at the Threadneedles hotel, during which the bridesmaids were pampered and received their gifts. Meanwhile, not too far away in Islington, Steven was nervously awaiting the arrival of his beautiful bride. Megan arrived arm in arm with her very emotional dad; a very proud father of the bride if I ever did see one.
After the swift ceremony we all hopped onto a routemaster bus that would deliver us back to Threadneedles for the reception, but not before a quick stop off at St. Paul’s for a few portraits of the newly married couple amongst the busy crowds that the capital attracts.
A few canapés and champagne and everyone sat down to dinner. Speeches followed, as did lots of wonderful cakes festooned with sparklers. Suitably fed, the couple took to the floor for their first dance, and the DJ kept everyone on the dance floor all night.
A super day that I was so pleased to be a part of.
